I have a basic lesson plan that I use for general audiences, but I have been able to teach origami around different themes such as Christmas ornaments, Out-of-Space, and specific projects.
My basic lesson plan starts with simple and basic folds that advance as the lesson continues. I like to teach the different "bases" that are in origami and have the students make an origami model that comes from that base.
The first lesson provides a general look at the world of origami and it gives the students four models that they can use and enjoy later on. The lesson starts with the folding of a cup, then a pencil pinwheel, a boat, and it ends with the folding of the mystical "Mountain Fuji."
